At BufMet Credit Union, we recognize the importance of honoring history, celebrating progress, and supporting the community we serve. Juneteenth, celebrated on June 19, commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and serves as a powerful reminder of resilience, freedom, and continued progress.
This year, BufMet was proud to participate in the Juneteenth Parade held in downtown Buffalo on Saturday, June 13, 2026. This event brought together organizations, families, and community members in a vibrant celebration of culture, unity, and progress.
Highlights from the parade included:
- A strong, community-focused turnout throughout downtown Buffalo
- A lively and uplifting atmosphere filled with music and celebration
- BMFCU team members engaging with attendees, giving out celebratory items, and representing our mission
- Opportunities to connect with local organizations and community leaders
Being present at this event allowed us to celebrate alongside the community while honoring the significance behind Juneteenth.
