Shared Branches

Another credit union’s branch that serves BufMet Credit Union members

A shared branch is another credit union’s branch that serves BufMet Credit Union members. You can do most of the same transactions at shared branches that you can do at the main branch. There’s no fee to visit a shared branch, and you only need your account number and photo ID.

Traveling or Banking Out of State

Members who use out of state shared branch locations will need to verify their identity through IDCHECK as part of a new CO-OP Shared Branch network policy. This measure is designed to enhance the security of your transactions and protect your accounts from fraud.

How it works:

Scan a QR code if provided at the branch you are visiting, or visit verify.coop.org
Select Buffalo Metropolitan FCU from the drop-down list
Enter your member number and the last four digits of your social security number
Upload a photo of your ID
Take a selfie (Tip: Save your validation for an even quicker experience next time!)
Show your one time passcode to the teller (passcode is valid for 20 minutes)

Important Note: If you are unable to verify your identity, your out od state transactions may be limited or denied. This policy is in place to help prevent unauthorized access to your accounts.
